Cliffhouse [In Words]
The location
The North West Coast of Jamaica remains unspoilt and Cousin’s Cove is without doubt the most beautiful of all the coastal villages. The majority of travellers who head west arrive at Montego Bay and tend to go straight for the commercial resort of Negril. Negril is certainly worth a visit; it caters for everyone from the poorest backpacker to those who prefer the all-inclusive luxury resorts. However, to see, feel and live the real Jamaica Cousin’s Cove is the perfect location.
The village stretches around two picturesque coves. One small cove, used as the main fishing point, is right outside the property and a larger bay expands westwards to meet with Green Island, the next village along the coast.
Take a walk up the back streets to really see how Jamaica lives. It is a very friendly atmosphere, and everyone is happy to stop and chat and pass the time of day.
This is a truly unspoilt Jamaican community. There are no commercial shops or restaurants at all, only the roadside driftwood shacks and bars owned by the locals where you can buy a beer, a piece of fried fish and sit and play dominoes all day long.
