The people and facilities of Cliff House

There is a CD/MD music system with speakers in the living room, the day room and by the pool. The system can also take ipods/mp3 players and is configured so the speakers can be switched on and off in each location or played all at the same time. There is a telephone and fax machine, but no TV and as yet, no permanent internet access however you can buy vouchers for dial up access easily enough.

In the main courtyard is a laundry room with washing machine and sink for the use of guests and the daily maid.

There is a selection of children’s toys, books and games stored in the cupboards in the living room as well as backgammon, chess and a special version of Jenga made by O’Neil - a great way to end an evening (a shot of rum being the traditional forfeit). There is also a badminton set, 2 tennis racquets with balls and other garden games.

We have three large and comfortable hammocks that can be set up under shady trees opposite the day room.

There is a twelve-seater Landrover that belongs to the house. O’Neil is the only person insured to drive it and he will gladly drive guests to and from the airport, on days out into the hills or to the beaches around the island. (Prices can be supplied on request). O’Neil has also insured his 8 seater minibus for guests to drive. This can be hired by the day and works out much cheaper than hiring a car from the airport for the duration of you stay which spends most of the time sitting idle outside the house. Please ask for more details if you would like to hire O’Neils’ minibus.
